Audience: Coaches, athletic trainers, athletic directors, physical education teachers, referees, and related professionals
Length: Two years, 18 credits. You will be
taking one 3-credit course per semester.
Fall 2007 Cohort only, your
group will only take three of the classes as a cohort -- Current Perspectives
in Physical Education and Sports: Athletics Issues (Kinesiology 750) fall 2007,
The Physiological Basis of the Conditioning Process (Kinesiology 730) spring
2008, and Current Perspectives in Physical Education and Sports: Athletics
Management (Kinesiology 750) summer 2008. Org & Admin and Legal Aspects will
be taken with general Ed Leadership students, Internship will be arranged to
meet your schedule.
Meeting Times: Wednesdays 6-9 pm (We intend to maintain this time and night throughout the program to best accommodate coaching schedules.)
Cohort Format: You will progress through the program as a group with the same individuals
Cost: Standard UW Oshkosh graduate fees and tuition ($368.23 per credit Spring 2007)
Can this certificate program apply to a Master’s Degree? Yes! The MS Educational Leadership degree program will accept all credits. This certificate program will constitute half of your degree.
To apply to the Certificate Program: Complete a Graduate School application form (All Applicants - Admission Application). Indicate your program is the Athletics and Exercise Leadership Certificate Program. If you also want to earn your MS Educational Leadership degree, complete a second application and indicate your program is Educational Leadership. You can use the same recommendations for both programs. Only one $45 application fee is required. All forms are submitted to the Graduate Studies Office.
