Leadership For Postsecondary, Technical And Adult Education Certificate

This graduate level certificate will focus on the preparation of staff and faculty to assume leadership roles in postsecondary, vocational and adult educational settings. Particular areas of focus include: history and philosophy of postsecondary education, effective communication, community engagement, nontraditional and adult education, and competency in applied or field research.


Required Courses:  (each course is 3 credits, certificate is 18 credits total)

 Introduction to Postsecondary Education in the United States                                  
   OR  History & Philosophy of Vocational, Technical, & Community Education

Field Research Designs & Methodologies in Educational Leadership                      
    OR  Applied Research in Educational Leadership            

Select Four of the Following Options : (12 credits total)
Effective Communication for Educational Leaders                                         
Nontraditional Higher & Postsecondary Education                            
Community Engagement for Educational Institutions                                                
Understanding & Facilitating Learning in Adulthood                                    
Program Planning and Evaluation

How to Register for Classes, Certificate, Degree Program:

Class registration: Use your Titan ID number to register for any class. If you are not currently a student at UW Oshkosh, fill out a paper graduate registration form and mail to Graduate Studies (available on Graduate Studies Forms page)

Certificate and/or Degree Application: You must fill out separate application forms for both the degree and certificate programs (hint: use the same form just indicate you want the Leadership For Postsecondary, Technical And Adult Education Certificate program on one form and the MS Educational Leadership degree program on the other form). Only one application fee is required. You may complete the paper or online application.
