REPORT (describe in narrative, address sections in oder)

Overview of program, current enrollment
The Broadfield Social Studies major and minor is designed to prepare students to teach in middle and secondary schools...... Include numbers of students in the program using the Admission I numbers.

Delivery model for program: (tell if on-line, on-site, alternative site, combination, etc)
This program is currently only available on-site.

Program offered at more than one site? (if yes, list sites)
No, this program is only offered on campus in a traditional, face-to-face format.

Degree Level: (baccalaureate, post baccalaureate, masters, licensure only, etc.)
Baccalaureate

Brief description of each course/module/block use to meet the content standards/guidelines
Students majoring in education have a strong liberal arts background (general education requirements), a thorough grounding in their content area (majors and minors), and a comprehensive understanding of the art and science of teaching (education courses in a Pre-Professional core and Professional core). Students are guided throughout their program by a Planning Sheet specific to their major and minor. Program requirements are also listed in the Undergraduate Bulletin along with course descriptions. Program Planning Sheets for graduate level licensure programs in Counseling, Reading, Special Education and Library/Media can be found on their respective websites as well as in the Graduate Bulletin.

COMPONENT II -- Conceptual Framework

COEHS Conceptual Framework -- in process

Alignment between COEHS Framework and DPI Standards (Word doc)

COMPONENT III -- Assessment System

College Assessment Plan -- in process

Program Portfolio Assessment Plan -- Secondary (pdf)

Content Standards and Performance Assessments for licensure program (tell if the standards are adopted from WI Licensure Program Standards or are from another group)

Social Studies Alignment Form (Word doc) -- needs much more detail

Early Childhood Special Ed Alignment Form (Word doc) -- identified by DPI people as being an excellent example illustrating how each Content Guideline was met in the various classes.

Syllabi -- for each class, available from database

Rubrics and Assessments -- include rubrics, exam questions and etc. that demonstrate/illustrate how each Content Standard is assessed (DPI says: The report should describe the performance-based assessments used to gather evidence of knowledge and skills, and dispositions if articulated. This may be accomplished through the inclusion of sample assessments and/or a description of the required assessments that occur throughout the program. -- If the performance assessments are clearly listed on the Content Standards and Performance Assessment forms, we probably don't need to include this section. Syllabi for each course will need to reflect performance assessments if it is not clear which class includes which assessment on the alignment forms.

Field Experiences -- Pull from FieldExpTable6.doc listing required field experiences

Format from notebook we viewed at June 2 conference....

1a. Conceptual framework
1b. Undergraduate Portfolio Assessment Plan
1c. WI 10 Teaching Standards Alignment

2. Assessment Plan (specific to social studies) -- this section was 3 pages long. It included the alignment forms for social studies

3. Rubrics -- each page was a different rubric from the various classes showing how the content standards were assessed. The rubrics all had names and classes associated with them. You could also include the essay questions and etc that are used to assess the content. I'd put them in the order they were listed in the next section's alignment forms if possible.

4. Content Guidelines Alignment -- Not sure how this differed from 2 above. I'd combine with 2.

5. Syllabi for each class

6. Field Experiences -- tell the field experiences they have, probably can pull from NCATE Standard 3 on Field Experiences. They should be about the same across all the secondary areas.
