Leadership for Social Justice in Education Certificate Program

The Leadership for Social Justice in Education Certificate graduate program is designed to provide educators with the knowledge to become an advocate for all students and help them become academically successful.

Audience: Teachers, administrators, and related school and community professionals

Length: Four semesters (summer, fall, spring, summer), 17 credits.

Cohort Format: You will progress through the program as a group with the same individuals. Why not invite a friend or colleague to join the group too!

Can this certificate program apply to a Master’s Degree?
Yes! The MS Educational Leadership degree program will accept all credits.

Learning Outcomes
You will:

• Identify issues and practices that impact student achievement
• Increase knowledge of various cultural groups to better understand and help partner with parents and community
• Examine how society constructs privilege and inequity and how this effects one’s own opportunities, as well as those of different peoples
• Develop instructional strategies, diversified forms of assessment, and school policies to reduce the achievement gap for students of poverty and various cultural groups
• Become an activist for educational equity

Registration for classes and the certificate ($45 application fee) will take place during our first class meeting.
