Are you a Lois Lowry fan? Have you read The Giver and Gathering Blue? If you have you’ll really enjoy this new book! It does a great job of bringing together all of Lowry’s characters.

Matty, the main character, lives in Village. He carries messages through Forest for Leader. Matty is hopeful that his true name will be given to him soon, and that it will be Messenger. He is also discovering a strange new ability – the ability to heal others.

Village is changing. Newcomers had always been welcome, especially those that were disabled. Now, a negative force is closing Village to outsiders and causing changes in the people. Matty is disturbed by what is going. He needs to make one last trip through Forest to bring Kira back to Village. On his return journey Forest changes. Both Kira and Matty find themselves in a fight for their lives. Matty questions whether he should use his new-found abilities.

Stop in the Media Center and check out this book! Find out whether Matty and Kira escape the grip of Forest. Two copies are available. This is a must-read for anyone who has read Lowry’s previous books.
